Job Title: Loss Prevention Supervisor

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Rome’s Your Independent Grocer, Sault Ste. Marie

Norpro Security Ltd. is looking for independent and motivated individuals to join our team as Loss Prevention Supervisor. In this role, the Loss Prevention Officer will be responsible for providing safety and protection of all employees, visitors, and company assets. As a Loss Prevention Officer, you will strive to prevent theft of and malicious damage to the client's products and property by monitor of surveillance cameras and walking around the store watching shoppers while remaining as inconspicuous as possible. They must also apprehend shoplifters and work with the authorities in prosecuting these individuals.

Wage: $19.40 per hour
# of Positions: 1

Start Date: as soon as possible.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift, 40 hrs per week.
  • Shifts are scheduled according to store hours.
  • Must have full-time availability for weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays.

Required Documents, License/Certification:

· Security Guard License (required)

· First Aid / CPR Certification (required)

· Use of Force Certification is considered and asset. If not candidates must be willing to complete the training.

· Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (required)

As a Loss Prevention Supervisor, your key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Conduct surveillance, detect and act on suspicious activity and ensure the recovery of stolen items.
  • Walk around the client store, property as you search for suspicious activity by clients and staff.
  • Monitor previous and live security feeds to detect dubious behaviour.
  • Approach and question individuals who seem to be acting suspiciously.
  • Frisk individuals thought to be in unlawful possession of unpaid product.
  • Apprehend thieves and hold them in a separate area as you wait for the authorities.
  • Provide eyewitness accounts to the authorities.
  • Recover stolen products and return to the floor.
  • Search for and report on vulnerabilities of the client security system.
  • Evaluate Security and provide recommendations to prevent theft and vandalism for the client.
  • Complete all reports related in incident and investigation for loss prevention.
  • Prepare, review and complete all paperwork associated to audits plus other shortage control programs.
  • Develop and maintain records of interviews, witness, apprehensions, disposition and evidence of recovered merchandise.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be computer literate and able to write electronic reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • You must be physically capable of extended patrolling, standing, have strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
