Job Overview
Heavy Equipment Dispatcher – Modern Crane
Milton, Ontario
Modern Crane is growing and we are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Dispatcher to join our team based out of Milton, Ontario.
This is a fast paced operations role coordinating mobile cranes, operators, float trucks, permits, logistics, and customer communication across a wide range of construction, infrastructure, industrial, and commercial projects throughout Ontario.
The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, is highly organized, and understands the urgency and complexity involved in dispatching heavy equipment safely and efficiently.

~~ Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily dispatching of cranes, operators, trucks, and support equipment across multiple yard locations
  • Manage schedule changes, emergencies, and customer requests in real time
  • Communicate with operators, customers, sales staff, and management throughout the day
  • Assist with route planning, logistics, and jobsite coordination
  • Ensure proper documentation, permits, and job information are accurate and complete
  • Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to maximize fleet utilization and uptime
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and customer service

~~ Qualifications

  • Previous dispatching experience in cranes, heavy equipment, construction, transportation, or related industries preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and make decisions in a high pressure environment
  • Knowledge of Ontario geography and construction logistics is considered an asset
  • Experience with dispatching software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
