About Nummax
Nummax is a leading manufacturer and distributor of cutting-edge LED display solutions, digital signage, and dynamic electronic posters. Known for innovation and high-reliability turnkey solutions, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding quality to the retail, corporate, and commercial real estate sectors. As we expand our operations and move into our next phase of growth, we are looking for a rigorous, strategic leader to oversee our supply chain pipeline.
Role Overview
The Purchasing and Logistics Manager will lead, optimize, and streamline all procurement, inventory control, and transport activities. Reporting directly to the Executive VP, you will ensure a seamless flow of electronics, structural hardware, and manufacturing components while keeping strict control over cost, quality, and lead times. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic vendor negotiation with day-to-day warehouse and shipping supervision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing lifecycle for manufacturing electronics, LED modules, custom metalwork, and assembly materials.
- Identify, vet, and negotiate terms with local and international suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and strict quality commitments.
- Monitor global supply chain trends (e.g., electronic component lead times, shipping container rates) to anticipate shortages and mitigate risks.
2. Logistics & Transporters Oversight
- Coordinate international and domestic freight, customs clearance, and inbound/outbound shipping logistics.
- Manage relationships and service agreements with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and local transport carriers to guarantee on-time delivery of finished displays and parts.
3. Inventory Control & Warehouse Optimization
- Implement and maintain strict inventory accuracy standards using the company ERP system.
- Establish optimal safety stock levels, reorder points, and material handling workflows to reduce carrying costs while preventing manufacturing downtime.
- Oversee periodic physical audits and cyclical inventory counts.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Performance Metrics
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Sales to align supply chain capacity with project delivery timelines and custom showroom needs.
- Track, analyze, and report on key KPIs including Supplier OTD (On-Time Delivery), Purchase Price Variance (PPV), and Inventory Turnover Ratio.
Qualifications & Profile
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or logistics coordination management, preferably within an electronics, hardware, manufacturing, or sign-fabrication environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). Supply chain certification (e.g., CSCP, SCMP) is a major asset.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of managing and negotiating contract terms with overseas manufacturers (Asia/Europe) and handling import/customs regulations.
- Technical Savvy: High proficiency with ERP software (inventory/purchasing modules) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Languages: Strong bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is essential due to regular interaction with both international vendors and the local Quebec team.
- Traits: Exceptionally organized, analytical, and process-driven. You excel under tight timelines and enjoy building scalable structures from the ground up.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (based on experience)
- Comprehensive group benefits package.
- The opportunity to work directly with executive leadership and shape the operational footprint of a rapidly expanding tech-manufacturing firm.
