Processing Plant Worker Full-time Casual | Port Alberni, BC | $20–22/hour

Kuunaa Foods has built a cutting-edge shellfish processing facility—BC’s first dedicated High-Pressure Processing (HPP) plant for oysters. Our company has applied innovative, science-based solutions to support the development of a sustainable shellfish industry in BC and is now ready to become a leader in seafood processing. Our mission is grounded in sustainability, innovation, and creating meaningful opportunities in coastal communities. This facility will enable safer processing, longer shelf life, and access to premium markets—bringing BC shellfish to the world. What You’ll Do

Work on the processing line handling, cleaning, sorting, and packaging shellfish products Operate processing equipment safely and efficiently (training provided) Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols at all times Work collaboratively with your team to meet daily production targets Assist with general plant tasks and other duties as needed This is physical, hands-on work in a fast-paced processing environment that can be cold and wet at times.

This Role Is for You If You Are:

Reliable, punctual, and take pride in showing up ready to work Comfortable with physical labour, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs A team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Adaptable and willing to take on different tasks as needed Interested in learning new skills in a growing industry Experience in food processing, seafood, manufacturing, fishing, forestry, or general labour is an asset— but not required. We will train the right people.

Minimum Requirements:

Secondary school diploma (preferred)

Ability to work flexible shifts, including occasional weekends

Valid driver’s licence (asset)

Basic communication skills and ability to follow procedures Basic record keeping and computer skills
