OVERVIEW

As a Blender, you will be primarily responsible for tank and liquid management such as cleaning, pressurizing, transferring and blending and ensuring QA standards are maintained ot the highest level. We welcome experienced individuals from the brewery and winery industries. Some receiving/warehouse duties are also required, such as forklift operation, offloading tankers into tanks, etc. Equipment maintenance as required and continual cleaning of tanks and blending areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mix sanitizing chemicals to clean and sanitize totes, lines and tanks
  • Must do visual inspections and complete documentation during the day to ensure defect-free work
  • Follow recipes/instructions for multiple types of products
  • Filtration of products
  • Prepare bulk format packaging (1000L totes) for shipment
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment with regard to cleaning and clearing it of debris and materials
  • Maintain condition, cleanliness and organization of parts and equipment
  • Basic quality control such as alcohol concentration checks, pH checks, carbonation checks, etc.
  • Organizing material for production and maintaining workflow as related to the production schedule
  • Is responsible for reporting any quality issues to the Lead person, QA Technician and/or Manager.
  • Assist in relieving other operators for lunch breaks.
  • Keep work area clean at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous brewery, distillery or liquid processing experience
  • Forklift experience an asset
  • Mechanically inclined and resourceful with tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment on site
  • Able to carry up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Able and willing to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends or evenings on occasion.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, often under tight deadlines. May involve shifts or weekend work depending on production schedules. You are regularly required to walk, stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. May be required to push or pull with a dolly or pallet jack up to 2000 lbs.
