Build Your Career. Lead Meaningful Projects. Grow with Terrace.

At Terrace, we serve as an Owner's Representative and trusted advisor, helping clients navigate the planning, design, procurement, and construction process. We work alongside owners, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver successful projects that create lasting value for the communities we serve.

We are seeking a Project Coordinator / Assistant Project Manager to support and lead key aspects of commercial and multi-family projects. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who has developed a foundation in construction, consulting, development, or project management and is ready to take the next step in their career.

This is not a traditional project coordination role focused solely on administration and reporting. You will be actively involved in project planning, consultant coordination, budgeting, procurement, construction administration, client communication, and project execution.

Why This Role Is Different

At many organizations, project coordinators are responsible for a narrow portion of the project lifecycle.

At Terrace, you'll gain exposure to the full project journey—from early planning and design through procurement, construction, and project closeout. You'll work directly with experienced project leaders and participate in decisions that influence project outcomes.

This role provides a clear path toward Project Manager and Development Manager responsibilities for individuals seeking long-term career growth.

The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced Project Managers and Development Managers, you will help coordinate and deliver commercial and multi-family projects while taking ownership of specific project components and responsibilities.

As your experience grows, so will your level of responsibility and involvement in project leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of commercial and multi-family projects
  • Support project budgeting, scheduling, reporting, and document control
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Participate in procurement activities and contract administration
  • Assist with permit applications, approvals, and regulatory processes
  • Track project progress and support issue resolution
  • Attend project meetings and prepare project updates
  • Support construction administration and project closeout activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes

Who Thrives in This Role

You'll likely enjoy this role if you:

  • Want to build a long-term career in project management or development
  • Take ownership of challenges and focus on solutions
  • Enjoy working with people and building strong relationships
  • Like balancing technical, financial, and operational considerations
  • Are organized, proactive, and willing to learn
  • Find satisfaction in helping clients achieve successful outcomes

Qualifications

  • Field leadership experience, supervisory experience, foreman experience, site coordination experience, or other hands-on construction leadership experience is considered a significant asset.
  • Experience leading people, coordinating trades, managing site activities, or taking responsibility for project outcomes is highly valued
  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 3–7 years of experience in construction, consulting, development, project coordination, estimating, field operations, or a related discipline
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with project teams
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Procore, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms is considered an asset
  • Experience with commercial, multi-family, institutional, or industrial projects is considered an asset

Career Growth

We believe in developing our people and creating opportunities for growth. This role is intended for professionals who are building toward Project Manager and Development Manager responsibilities.

Team members who demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, leadership, and strong client service will have opportunities to take on increasingly complex projects and advance within the organization.

Join Our Team

If you are looking for an opportunity to expand your experience, work alongside talented professionals, and play a meaningful role in the delivery of important projects, we would like to hear from you.

At Terrace, we believe the most rewarding careers are built on serving others well. We are committed to creating an environment where our team members can grow professionally, find fulfillment in their work, and make meaningful contributions to the success of our clients. When our people succeed, our projects succeed, and our clients benefit.
