Full job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Mammoth Imaging is a well-established wide-format fabric printing company with over 21 years of experience serving trade show display and large-format printing clients across the Greater Toronto Area. We are looking for a detail-driven Prepress Graphic Technician to join our production team.

In this role, you will be the critical quality checkpoint between client artwork and final print output. Your primary focus is technical file preparation — not creative design — ensuring every job meets our exacting colour, size, and font standards before it reaches the press.

⚠ PLEASE NOTE: This position involves little to no creative design work. The core mandate is technical file review: verifying colour accuracy, fonts, sizing, and ensuring files are optimized for our wide-format dye sublimation printing equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform thorough pre-flight checks on all incoming files — colour profiles, fonts, bleed, and sizing
  • Prepare and optimize files for wide-format dye sublimation output
  • Create accurate digital mockups for client review and approval
  • Run test prints and assess physical output quality against job specifications
  • Operate, monitor, and perform basic maintenance on wide-format printing equipment
  • Package and QC finished products to specification
  • Collaborate closely with production team members to meet job deadlines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all safety protocols when operating machinery

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop are essential)
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop — this is non-negotiable
  • Experience working in a Mac environment is strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of colour management, ICC profiles, and wide-format print workflows
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate in a team-based production environment

Assets (Nice to Have):

  • Prior experience in wide-format, dye sublimation, or trade show display printing
  • Familiarity with RIP software and print-ready file standards

WORK CONDITIONS & AVAILABILITY

  • Full-time, in-person position at our Mississauga facility — no remote or hybrid work available Core hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Production demands occasionally require extended hours during peak periods — flexibility is expected and appreciated Weekends are generally free; occasional weekend availability may be requested during exceptional circumstances
  • Must be located in the Greater Toronto Area and able to reliably commute to Mississauga

⚠ PLEASE NOTE: Applications are open to GTA-based candidates only. Please do not apply if you are located outside the Greater Toronto Area or are seeking remote or hybrid work arrangements. Only candidates available to work on-site in Mississauga will be considered.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Starting hourly rate of $25
  • Stable, Monday–Friday schedule with consistent daytime hours
  • A well-equipped production environment with professional-grade Adobe and printing tools
  • A collaborative team culture at one of the GTA's most established wide-format print shops
  • Opportunities to grow your technical expertise in a specialized and growing industry
