Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated person for the position of Crusher Team Leader / Supervisor to join our expanding team based in Labrador West, NL. As a COR certified company, we have a culture of health & safety, respects, and professionalism. We are actively recruiting for an experienced, results-driven Team Leader / Supervisor, in our Labrador West location.

Working directly with open pit mining clients, the Crusher Supervisor / Team Leader position is a safety-sensitive position on a 20-10 rotation, 12-hour shifts, and primarily located at the Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOCC) and Tacora Resources mine sites. The supervisor will be motivated to accomplish operational objectives, and committed to a culture of Health & Safety.

Responsibilities & Primary Duties

  • Report directly to the company’s Operations Superintendent
  • Operate and maintain a mobile crusher in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of crushing equipment
  • Lead and support daily crushing operations on-site
  • Relocate, and set up crusher equipment at various job sites when necessary
  • Work outdoors in physically demanding conditions
  • Responsible for all crushing reports at end of shift
  • Implement production operation plan to maximize productivity while minimizing cost and environmental impact.
  • Ensure that the company’s health, safety, and environmental policies are adhered to on all the company’s job sites you are responsible for, while supporting and promoting the value of the company’s HSE Program.
  • Ensure all activities are managed in a safe and productive manner.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings with team to discuss and review Health & Safety and operational tasks.
  • Work closely with key suppliers & stakeholders
  • Complete daily EHS inspections & drive a positive safety culture with your team.
  • Eunsure pre-operational checklists are completed on a daily and per-equipment use basis
  • Tracking of inventory & purchase request for equipment parts.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in crushing environment and in a related role, ideally with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in capacity of Team Leader / Supervisor
  • Proven experience operating and maintaining mobile crushing equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance experience
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments
  • Strong work ethic and team leadership skills
  • Knowledge and experience in a crushing and heavy equipment envirionment and accustomed to meeting operational and safety objectives.
