Mount Norquay is hiring full-time Snowmakers starting immediately!

If you enjoy hard physical work, being outdoors, and playing an important role in getting the mountain ready for winter, we want to hear from you!

Join our Snowmaking team and spend your days working in the stunning surroundings of Banff National Park. Snowmakers play an essential role in preparing Mount Norquay for the winter season by producing and maintaining snow across the mountain. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy physically demanding outdoor work, aren't afraid to get wet and cold, and thrive as part of a hardworking team.

Duties May Include

  • Operating and monitoring snowmaking equipment, including snow guns, pumps, compressors, and associated systems
  • Setting up, moving, connecting, and disconnecting snowmaking equipment and hoses
  • Monitoring snowmaking operations and adjusting equipment as required to achieve optimal snow coverage
  • Working with the Snowmaking team to efficiently cover ski runs and terrain
  • Moving and handling heavy hoses, pipes, snow guns, and other equipment
  • Assisting with snowmaking system setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Performing routine inspections and reporting equipment issues or safety concerns
  • Working around water, compressed air, electrical equipment, and other snowmaking infrastructure while following all safety procedures
  • Hiking and working on steep, uneven mountain terrain in winter conditions
  • Shovelling, digging, lifting, carrying, and performing other physically demanding tasks as required
  • Assisting with general mountain preparation and winter operations
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Working effectively as part of a team in changing weather and operating conditions

Requirements

  • Physically fit and able to perform demanding manual labour for extended periods
  • Comfortable lifting 50 lbs or more repeatedly throughout the day
  • Able to hike and work on steep, uneven mountain terrain
  • Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in cold, wet, and changing weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team while following safety procedures
  • Comfortable working around water, machinery, hoses, pumps, and other mechanical equipment
  • Previous experience in snowmaking, ski resort operations, construction, landscaping, plumbing, mechanical work, or other labour-intensive work is considered an asset
  • Mechanical or equipment operating experience is an asset
  • Experience working with pumps, hoses, pipes, or pressurized systems is an asset
  • Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence is an asset
  • First Aid certification is considered an asset
