Full job description

GiveBack Contracting is a fast-growing commercial Landscaping Construction Company and is looking for some great people to join our team! Lots of room for growth and advancement within the company.

We are looking to fill several Skilled Landscapers and Landscaping Lead positions.

As Landscape Foreman, you are responsible for running and managing a crew of up to 4 people for the day to day activities.

You are a proactive leader and self-starter who can interact with the public and other team members. You have a strong work ethic and are able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines. You have experience in Hardscape design and installation and previous leadership experience, as well as proven communication skills with supervisors, employees, and customers. Able to motivate and direct your team in a positive, productive, and safe manner.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of up to 4 people while performing services; motivate, coach, and mentor team
  • Able to install pavers, retaining walls, site furniture as well as other typical landscape items, as well as using various tools required.
  • Have a valid driver's license and operate various forms of equipment, such as mini excavators, skid steers, etc with various attachments.
  • Perform landscape enhancement activities such as the installation of patios, retaining walls, walkways
  • Address clients' questions, comments, and concerns
  • Prepare daily reports and other required paperwork
  • Read drawings and prints.
  • Order materials to site and plan ahead!

Qualifications.

  • 3-5 years' experience in this field is required, commercial preferred but residential is acceptable.
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Own transportation to and from shop and jobsite
  • Background check
  • Able to workdays, weekends, early morning, early evening
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime
  • Must be able to lift up to 45kg and perform all other physical requirements associated with a position of this nature

Skilled Landscaper

In this role you will be a team member responsible for performing a variety of work tasks to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects, Operate a variety of tools and equipment professionally under the instruction of the Landscape Foreman

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Typically Mon to Fri 9-10 HR days, but can be some weekends / additional overtime required based on the project.
  • Working in a team environment in the installation of landscape construction projects.
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site.
  • Have a great attitude, attention to detail, be hardworking, and willing to go the extra mile.
  • Basic landscape construction knowledge and understanding of daily goals to achieve
  • Knowledge of proper Compacted Granular Base preparation. Including excavation and compaction of granular for all hardscape surfaces such as pavers, concrete, natural stone
  • Operation of stone saw and the ability to complete basic and complex cuts
  • Daily Maintenance of tools and equipment. Loader/excavator maintenance, ability to use a tape measure, laser level, and check grades
  • Installation of Driveways, Patios, Natural Stone and Commercial Retaining Walls, Garden Beds and Planting, and attention to detail.
  • Follow all health & safety regulations including wearing appropriate PPE and following Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for safe handling of construction materials

  • Two years or more of installing hardscapes and other landscape products preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45kg and perform all other physical requirements associated with a position of this nature.
