Celebrating our 109th anniversary, Bartlett Lodge is Algonquin Park's smallest and most historic lodge! We have 12 cabins, 2 suites, and 2 platform tents that house our guests from around the world. Experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to live and work in one of Canada's oldest Provincial Parks.

We are hiring for 1 (one) Prep Cook/Dishwasher vacancy at our resort. This position is a full-time contract position LOCATED IN ALGONQUIN PARK (3 hours from Ottawa/Toronto) with a July 24th 2026 start date until the end of our season on October 25th, 2026

You must be available to work the entire season to be considered for this position. You may be required to work holidays, weekends, split shifts, and on occasion 6-day weeks.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef, duties include:

  • Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes.
  • Keeps the dish area free of clutter and organized.
  • Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
  • Maintains clean/dry floors throughout the shift.
  • Properly washes, stacks, and stores china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
  • Changes water of machines and sinks as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by EcoLab.
  • Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
  • Assist with cleaning and organizing of Fridges, Freezers and Dry Storage spaces
  • Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
  • Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Keen attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
  • Some kitchen experience is an asset, but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

We provide staff accommodations and two meals per day. Employees are welcome to use our amenities including canoes, kayaks, and bikes. Employees are also able to enjoy unlimited access to the park at no cost during their days off. Pay is based on a day rate wage of $150.00 per day, plus a share of our generous tip pool. For a full-time staff member during the 2025 season, this worked out to an extra $8500 or on average $8 per hour.
