Full job description

Senior Full Stack Developer

Opportunity:
WeVend is currently seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to build and maintain both front-end and back-end applications within our Enterprise Applications Architecture, inclusive of Payment Processing technology, Customer Portals, and Internal Support systems. Our development team works AI-first: Claude is our main coding tool, and developers direct, review, and refine its output rather than writing most code by hand.
This position is based at our Head Office location in North York, ON. WeVend is a Fintech, IoT, and Payment Device Solutions Provider, enabling seamless device control and payments technologies for targeted retail verticals.

Duties

  • Use Claude (including Claude Code) as your main coding tool to plan, write, test, review, and document code, with your engineering judgment guiding and validating the output
  • Plan, develop, optimize, and maintain web applications using a variety of programming languages
  • Collaborate with Solutions Architect, Third Party providers, and product managers to create new functions and features that are optimized for user experience, speed, and accuracy
  • Conduct thorough initial developer testing and debugging of applications
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies to ensure the best practices are implemented in codebase to deliver secure applications
  • Integrate applications and data from various platforms and Third-Party services, using their specifications and or industry standards, into WeVend Enterprise Application Platform
  • Investigate/Troubleshoot application bugs to determine root cause and implement resolutions quickly
  • Optimize and refactor existing code to improve performance and reliability

What This Role Requires:

  • High attention to details to ensure consistent delivery of stated requirements with accuracy and within expected timelines
  • Ownership of your work and your projects, establishing deadlines, and communicating progress proactively, while working on multiple projects
  • Eager to research and learn new technologies and skills in a self-directed way (always improving)
  • An AI-first development mindset: comfortable using Claude as your main way of producing code, and rigorous about reviewing, testing, and securing what it generates
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and resolution
  • Being a strong team player who works well with a wide range of people from different parts of the business, customer base, and WeVend partnerships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Senior Full Stack Developer delivering solutions in the FinTech Sector
  • Proven experience delivering payment applications, integration, and certification is a distinct advantage
  • Proven experience delivering Customer Billing Platforms and other internal support systems
  • Hands-on experience using Claude / Claude Code (or similar AI coding agents) as your main development tool
  • Proven development skills on Tech Stack - React, JavaScript, Node.js, NestJS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cloud Platforms
  • Strong communication and writing skills and ability to create documentation/release notes
  • Your ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
