We are Play Hockey. Hockey is our passion, and we love helping young players reach their full potential. Our veteran team of professionals delivers camps, clinics, leagues, teams, tournaments, and international tours to markets across North America. Play Hockey is seeking a AWS Lambda (Java) Developer to add to our Information Technology team. The successful candidate will have strong time management skills, the ability to work in a team setting as well as individually and have experience in the AWS Lambda (Java) development industry. This is a great opportunity to work on a serverless, modern architecture stack in a fast-paced project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop backend APIs using AWS Lambda (Java) and expose via API Gateway.
  • Integrate with AWS services like S3, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Cognito.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions (Agile environment).
  • Write reusable, secure, and testable code for both backend and frontend.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and participate in deployment activities.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java (8 or later) for AWS Lambda development.
  • Familiar with Git, DevOps concepts and working in a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently

Nice to Have:

  • AWS Experience and Certification
  • Java Certification
  • Prior experience on similar cloud-native projects.
