Full job description

Position: Apache Camel Developer
Location: Remote, Canada (must be available EST)
Structure: Contract 6 months to start
Pay: Up to $100.00 p/h inc. CAD

We have a great new opportunity to support one of our System Integrator / Technology clients in a contract capacity!

Requirements:

  • Strong expertise in Java 21+ & Spring Boot (latest stable version)
  • Mandatory expertise in Apache Camel (latest stable version - 4.4.5 - 4.20.0), with deep knowledge of: Components, Routing, Enterprise integration patterns, Performance optimization
  • Mandatory hands-on experience with Kafka integration using Camel
  • Proven experience streaming large file contents efficiently (both inbound and outbound)
  • Experience with payload transformations within Camel integration flows
  • Mandatory skills with Kubernetes/AKS, including: CSI drivers, Persistent volumes, Cloud-native deployment techniques
  • Observability experience: OA/OTEL awareness, Metrics and tracing, Auto-instrumentation using OpenTelemetry or Dynatrace
  • Proven background in performance tuning for: Camel routes, Payload processing, File streaming pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver complex integration solutions independently
