At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your impact
Want to be an integral part of a team that delivers unique projects that make a difference in your community? Here’s your chance to support the delivery and procurement of projects and programs for our clients in ON and across Canada—and have a hand in transforming tomorrow. An opportunity exists to grow your business development, project management, and technical skills by joining a dynamic and growing team in Toronto, Kitchener, and Ottawa—one of the world’s most progressive global regions with diverse access to world-class outdoor activities. You’ll help deliver large and complex conveyance projects throughout the province and beyond.
You will expand and utilize your skills by working on challenging projects, where you can plan, direct, and monitor all aspects with varying degrees of technical complexity from the proposal stage through detailed design and construction. If you’re looking for a career-defining opportunity and are interested in working with industry-leading experts in a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture, you’ll find it here.
As a Senior Project Manager , you will play a key role in growing the business by establishing and expanding long-term client relationships, identifying and securing new work, leveraging your existing network within the municipal sector, technically leading and supporting our conveyance projects, and mentoring intermediate and junior staff.
You will also participate as a subject matter expert or draw on the knowledge of our technical experts to lead or support the design of municipal conveyance infrastructure (watermains, sewers, culverts, etc.) according to established standards and software. You will lead the development of engineering studies, reports, drawings, specifications, contract documents, proposals, and cost estimates with minimal direction.
You’ll be expected to be in the Toronto, Kitchener, or Ottawa office or project or client sites on average 2 days a week, with the expectation to travel for client/site meetings and occasional team meetings.
Here's what you'll need
Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering (or applicable discipline and/or equivalent experience).
Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) as a professional engineer in the Province of Ontario.
12+ years of directly applicable experience working with municipal clients in engineering or project management roles.
Demonstrated ability to lead client-facing engagements, develop proposals, and contribute to business development strategy.
Proven ability to leverage existing client relationships to identify and secure new opportunities.
Strong aptitude for technical design, writing, and verbal communication related to municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
Proven experience managing project schedules, budgets, change orders, and invoicing.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Strong experience in report writing and proposal preparation, including leading pursuit efforts.
Established network and relationships with local municipalities and public sector clients across Ontario.
Design and project management experience serving as the Engineer of Record for water and wastewater infrastructure.
Experience managing and coordinating multiple disciplines on small to large projects, including the ability to successfully manage scope, schedule, and budget.
Experience in trenchless design with methods such as HDD, TBM, and MTBM would be beneficial.
Experience in condition assessment and rehabilitation would be beneficial.
Experience leading alternate delivery pursuits and projects would be beneficial.
