Supply Chain & Inventory Manager
Location: South Surrey, BC
Company Overview
The Power Group of Companies is a growing group of businesses serving the building products and construction industries across North America. Our companies focus on manufacturing, distribution, and sales of innovative building materials and construction solutions.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking a hands-on Supply Chain & Inventory Manager to help strengthen our inventory management, logistics coordination, warehouse operations, and overall supply chain performance.
Position Summary
The Supply Chain & Inventory Manager is responsible for supporting and improving inventory control, logistics, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes across The Power Group of Companies.
The primary focus of this role is inventory management and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, improving inventory visibility, coordinating freight and logistics activities, supporting warehouse operations, and implementing practical process improvements that contribute to the overall success of the business.
This is a hands-on management role. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable reviewing inventory reports, working within ERP systems, coordinating logistics, and spending time on the warehouse floor to understand and improve day-to-day operations.
The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and willing to roll up their sleeves when necessary to get the job done.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Control
- Maintain and improve inventory accuracy across all warehouse locations.
- Develop and manage inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Coordinate and participate in cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and stock variances.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify replenishment requirements.
- Assist in forecasting inventory needs and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Analyze inventory turns, slow-moving inventory, and obsolete inventory.
- Develop inventory reporting, dashboards, and key performance metrics.
- Work closely with operations, sales, and management teams to improve inventory planning and visibility.
- Identify opportunities to reduce inventory carrying costs while maintaining service levels.
Logistics & Freight Management
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight activities.
- Coordinate domestic and international freight movements, including truck, rail, and ocean freight shipments.
- Assist in managing import logistics, container movements, customs documentation, and inbound freight coordination.
- Manage relationships with freight carriers, brokers, and logistics providers.
- Obtain freight quotations and support transportation purchasing activities.
- Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate transportation schedules and delivery performance.
- Support domestic and cross-border shipping activities.
- Assist in developing transportation strategies that improve service and reduce costs.
Warehouse Operations Support
- Work closely with warehouse personnel to support efficient day-to-day operations.
- Assist in improving receiving, storage, picking, shipping, and inventory handling processes.
- Support warehouse layout improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure inventory control procedures are consistently followed.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and productive warehouse environment.
- Provide hands-on support when operational needs require it.
- Help establish processes, systems, and structure as the business continues to grow.

- Assist with procurement of freight services, operational supplies, equipment, and other business requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and support vendor communications when required.
- Work with purchasing personnel to ensure inventory objectives are achieved.
- Support continuous improvement of purchasing and inventory management processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, purchasing, supply chain, or related operational roles.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and inventory management best practices.
- Experience working with ERP systems and inventory management software.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
