Full job description

Crane Supply is Canada's premier distributor of quality pipe, valves, fittings and piping accessories. Servicing Commercial, Industrial, Residential and Fire Protection contractors, along with Industrial Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) firms. HOURS OF WORK: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

PROCUREMENT COORDINATOR

The Procurement Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the procurement team in our development of supply chain strategies for core commodities. Key responsibilities include managing incoming purchase orders, coordinating ocean freight & brokerage, along with overseeing the daily administration of the warehouse. This includes tasks such as daily invoicing, stock receiving and reconciliation, resolving shipping errors, ensuring timely inbound and outbound shipments, and supporting various procurement team initiatives. The role is essential in ensuring smooth operations within the supply chain and maintain high standards of inventory control.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain awareness of world markets and emerging material related issues including raw material tracking and forecasting to help evaluate supply chain risks, while ensuring the quality and continuity of supply at favourable price levels.
  • Generating periodic reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Maintain and analyze historical price databases in relation to input indices to inform decision-making
  • Provide support to sales team on customer projects by providing total landed costs and potential delivery schedules
  • Track inbound ocean freight shipments by coordinating with freight forwarders and import brokers, preparing delivery schedules and communicating updates internally
  • Oversee stock receiving and reconciliation processes to ensure accurate inventory records
  • Investigate variances and ensure inventory accuracy through daily cycle count reconciliation
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure adherence to shipping and receiving schedules
  • Process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs)
  • Perform additional responsibilities as reasonably assigned, including conducting annual physical inventory

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Procurement experience preferred, including all elements of strategy and execution
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities, with a proven capacity to make timely, effective, and fact based decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills paired with effective negotiation abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in a dynamic work environment
  • Broad knowledge of the global marketplace and distribution practices
  • Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence across organizational
