Cost and Freight Analyst/Intermediate Accountant

Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Controller, this person will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions and strategic initiatives of the Finance Team.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

· Process and analyze freight, duty and brokerage invoices to ensure accuracy of both invoicing and appropriate inventory costing.

· Maintain forecasts for landed cost rates on inventory purchases

· Communication changes in forecasts to management

· Conduct account analysis and prepare working papers and schedules to support financial reporting

· Build and/or maintain Excel reporting models, and/or Business Objects reports used for monthly and quarterly reporting

· Assist with interim and year-end audit and reporting requirements

· Ensure continuous improvements are applied within areas of responsibility

· Create and/or maintain proper documentation for processes within areas of responsibility

· Participate in special projects and initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and efficiency

Job Qualifications:

· Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience

· Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-pressure environment

· Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset

· Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team

· Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

· High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

· Experience with large-scale accounting and reporting systems such as SAP, AS400, or other ERP systems

· Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills required

· Bi-lingual (French) an asset, but not required

Education:

· College Diploma/University Degree or equivalent work experience within an accounting/finance role

· Actively pursuing accounting designation (CPA) an asset
