JOB SUMMARY

A Packaging Supervisor at Legends Haul is a vital part of the team responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient packaging of meat products. The ideal candidate will adhere to strict quality and safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Additionally, the candidate will also be responsible for supporting freezer organization and inventory management to facilitate smooth operations. The primary focus of the Packaging Supervisor is to ensure production packing targets are met in a timely fashion, while supervising team members and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Packaging Operations Supervision: Supervise team members operating packaging machinery and equipment to efficiently package products according to established Legends Haul guidelines
  • Demonstrate and instruct Team Members how to safely complete tasks and follow production packing procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of Team Members, ensuring meticulous quality of work; provide regular feedback and constructive criticism to achieve desired results
  • Notify management of any actual or potential Food Safety issue
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect products for quality, ensuring that they meet company standards and customer specifications
  • Weighing and Labeling consistency: Weigh and label packaged meat products accurately, ensuring correct quantities and proper labeling
  • Inventory Support: Collaborate with inventory management personnel to keep track of packaged products, and support accurate inventory counts
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 60lbs of products and stand for up to 4 hours in a cold environment, maintaining a safe and clean work area
  • Cross-Training: Willingness to undergo cross-training in different areas of the production process as required, supporting overall team flexibility
  • Adherence to Safety Procedures: Ensure that defined procedures and safe work practices are being followed
  • Sanitation and Cleanliness: Keep workstations and packaging equipment clean and sanitized to meet hygiene standards and prevent contamination
  • Abide by Good Manufacturing Practices which includes observing all policies & procedures and following all written & verbal instructions

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience: Prior experience in a packaging or production environment is beneficial but not mandatory; supervisory experience is required.
  • Physical Endurance: Capable of lifting up to 60lbs and standing for extended periods in a cold environment
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to product quality, packaging accuracy, and adherence to safety standards
  • Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment, supporting other team members when needed
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work in various roles within the production team based on the company's needs. Must be comfortable working inside freezer and cooler for a prolonged period of time
  • Communication: Good verbal communication skills to convey any concerns or issues to management effectively
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues related to packaging processes and machinery
  • Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability to meet production targets and deadlines.
