We provide sauna, steam, massage, and cold plunge services in thoughtfully designed spaces that cater to various needs - whether seeking engaging conversation and community or moments of re-energizing and relaxation. We are currently hiring a full-time Spa Manager to join our COP | West Location team.
We require a candidate with flexible, open availability. Ideally, you will be available for opens and closes, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Scheduling will be discussed further with selected candidates during the recruitment process. As Spa Manager, there is always an expectation to be available to support the team and the operations when needed.
Role Overview
The Spa Manager is a dynamic, team focused, leadership role at Cedar & Steam, where you'll inspire and lead a motivated team while overseeing daily operations and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. You’ll play a key part in driving both short-term and long-term goals, fostering a culture of excellence, and maintaining strong service and safety standards.
In this hands-on role, you'll mentor staff, manage training and scheduling, conduct performance reviews, and troubleshoot challenges, ensuring your team has the support they need to succeed. You’ll also drive sales, promote retail products and memberships, and maintain a clean, organized environment. Your leadership will be pivotal in delivering a 5-star guest experience and cultivating a positive, team-focused culture. Working closely with the Facility Operations Lead and Guest Experience Lead, you will ensure smooth operations and consistent service.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Financial Performance Collaborate with leadership to meet or exceed sales targets, motivate the team to promote retail products and services, and oversee financial reporting to ensure performance aligns with revenue goals.
Customer Satisfaction & Guest Experience Ensure the spa delivers a 5-star guest experience by anticipating needs, resolving concerns quickly, and using feedback to improve service and retain guests.
Oversee Staff & RMTs Ensure the success of the spa by training, developing, and holding staff and contractors accountable, using tools like scorecards and Evolve Reviews. Collaborate with HR to recruit top talent, and ensure smooth onboarding, training, and team integration.
Leadership & Team Support Coach and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture. Provide continuous feedback, set clear expectations, and model professionalism and strong customer service standards.
Administrative & Operational Duties Manage staffing schedules, ensure accurate documentation, assist with inventory, monitor operational flow, and utilize tools to track team performance and maintain efficiency.
Facility Maintenance & Safety Oversee the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the facility, addressing any maintenance issues promptly and ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Continuous Improvement Identify and implement operational improvements, gather feedback from guests and team members, and work with leadership to enhance the guest experience and spa culture.
Qualifications
Education:
- No specific formal education required, but a general understanding of health and wellness is an asset.
- Leadership or Management training is considered an asset.
- AGLC Proserve certificate is required.
- Standard | Intermediate First Aid and CPR [SFA|CPR] is required.
- Police Information Check [PIC] is required.

Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a management or leadership role in a spa, wellness center, hospitality, or related industry is required.
- Experience with MindBody software is required.
- Experience with Monday.com is required.
- Previous knowledge of massage therapy, essential oils, and wellness services is an asset.
- Coaching or team involvement is an asset.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Proactive leadership with the ability to train, motivate, and develop staff, ensuring alignment with the spa’s goals and fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster long-term relationships with guests, team members, and vendors.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment, ensuring smooth operations and achievement of sales and guest satisfaction targets.
- Expertise in customer service and problem-solving, with the ability to effectively engage with guests, personnel, contractors, vendors, and the public.
- Experience with software programs such as Monday, Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, and Mindbody, along with the ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
