Job Summary
Masco Steel Industries Ltd. has an immediate opening for a General Labourer with expertise in Sandblasting, Saw Operation, and Painting. This role involves performing various manufacturing and mechanical tasks to support the production processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in machining, welding, and the use of hand and power tools, contributing to efficient and safe operations within our manufacturing environment. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where mechanical knowledge and safety are paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sandblasting equipment to prepare surfaces for painting or coating
  • Use saws and cutting tools to shape or modify materials according to specifications
  • Perform painting tasks with attention to detail, ensuring quality finishes
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools for assembly and fabrication tasks
  • Operate cranes and forklifts safely to move heavy materials or equipment as needed
  • Assist in the assembly of components using mechanical knowledge and basic math skills
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain safety standards
  • Support maintenance activities including basic troubleshooting of machinery
  • Perform general clean up of compound and shop
  • Receiving, checking and confirming delivery of materials and parts

Skills

  • Mininum High School Diploma with 1-2 years of industry related experience with good reading skills
  • Proven experience in sandblasting, saw operation, and painting within a manufacturing setting
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools effectively
  • Familiarity with crane operation and forklift handling is preferred
  • Ability to perform assembly tasks accurately using mechanical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality standards
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour
