Salary range (but not limited to):
94,200 - 115,200Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
We’re looking for a Claims Specialist, Property to join our growing team in our Mississauga and Ottawa offices!
What you’ll do here:
- Investigates, manages, and settles high complexity property claims and various claims.
- Provide a superior quality of customer service to external and internal customers.
- Analyze the information gathered, interpret insurance policy wording, determines coverage, assesses damage.
- Within established authority limits, negotiate with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims, while managing costs efficiently and effectively
- Gather factual versions of the circumstances of the claim from insureds, third parties and other stakeholders to determine the circumstances, causes and eligibility of claims.
- Assist in the evaluation and negotiation of large losses
- Anticipate recoveries and direct the investigation accordingly.
- Actively collaborate with the various related departments in the claims and underwriting departments, as well as outside specialists.
- Build relationships and collaborate with different teams including our rely partners, engineers, appraisers, underwriting and legal.
- Adhere to company standards and guidelines for file documentation while ensuring sound management of external fees and costs.
- Stay in the know about current insurance products and trends in appraisal and investigation techniques and services.
What you bring to the table:
- University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
- A minimum of 3 years related experience in Property Claims is required.
- High-level knowledge of the Xactimate
- Comprehensive knowledge of mitigation (IICRC), construction, and repair procedures
- Effective verbal communication skills, with experience in interviewing, coaching others, and dealing with clients
- Good written communications skills to draft claims reports
