Reporting to the Quality Control Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing inspections and verification activities across welding, piping, structural steel, pressure equipment repairs, and bolted connections. The role requires a strong field presence and close coordination with construction, maintenance, operations, NDE personnel, and client representatives to ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and quality requirements.

This position is well suited for a hands-on inspector who thrives in a fast-paced outage environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and schedule performance.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Quality Control

  • Perform visual inspections of welding, piping, structural steel, bolted connections, and pressure equipment repair activities.
  • Verify work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, client specifications, approved procedures, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections and accurately document inspection results.
  • Review drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality requirements prior to execution of work.
  • Support material receiving inspections, including verification of material identification, condition, and supporting documentation.
  • Verify material traceability requirements are maintained throughout fabrication, repair, and installation activities.
  • Coordinate with NDE personnel and ensure inspection activities are completed as required.
  • Monitor preservation, storage, and handling of materials and equipment where applicable.
  • Verify that monitoring and measuring equipment is properly calibrated and fit for use.
  • Notify client representatives and third-party inspectors of required hold points and witness points.

Turnaround / Outage Support

  • Provide inspection coverage for critical-path turnaround activities.
  • Coordinate inspection activities to support efficient execution and minimize schedule impacts.
  • Work closely with construction, maintenance, and client teams to identify and resolve quality concerns in a timely manner.
  • Support execution of piping modifications, structural repairs, pressure equipment repairs, and maintenance-related work scopes.
  • Promote quality awareness and compliance throughout outage execution.

Quality Documentation

  • Complete inspection reports and quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review quality records to ensure completeness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain inspection records, weld logs, NDE documentation, and other quality-related records.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of quality turnover documentation as required.
  • Ensure documentation is organized and readily available for audits, client review, and project closeout.

Non-Conformance Management

  • Identify, document, and report non-conforming work or materials.
  • Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
  • Support corrective actions and follow-up verification activities.
  • Ensure non-conforming materials are properly identified, segregated, and controlled.

Audits & Compliance

  • Participate in internal, client, and regulatory audits.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of project quality requirements.
  • Promote continuous improvement and adherence to DCM quality standards.
