Full job description

Position Title: Project Manager

Summary Description:

Manage all aspects of customer and internal technology development projects from start to finish. Lead through deployment, identify and manage schedules, scopes, budget estimations and implementation plans, including risk mitigation. Project Managers are integral members of our production team, and their responsibilities include planning, communications, scheduling, procurement, contract administration and resource coordination. Structure and manage multiple projects to achieve quality and success. The PM must be proactive and interactive with the needs of each department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Create detailed project work plans which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully execute the project on time, within budget and at a high level of quality.

2. Work with engineering and production personnel to determine the resources (timeline, personnel, materials, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.

3. Work with engineering and production personnel to develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.

4. Collaborate with departmental leads to coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring the projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budget.

5. Work with customers to ensure the customer requirements are met, milestone payments are made on schedule and that all scope changes are appropriately communicated, documented, and processed.

6. Execute project kick off meetings to ensure team alignment and provide status updates to the project team on a regular basis as the project progresses.

7. Maintain appropriate files to ensure that all project details are documented and secured.

8. Analyze, monitor and update the progress of projects, make necessary adjustments, and solve problems to ensure the project team adheres to the project requirements and the successful completion of the projects.

9. Facilitate weekly meetings to report project progress and provide updates to the team.

10. Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management – escalating issues as required based on project work plans.

11. Co-ordinate, track and report on any scientific research and experimental development (SRED) activities associated with projects.

12. Assist sales and applications staff with the development of solutions concepts, and quotations.

13. Be co-operative, flexible, and disciplined. Provide purpose, direction and motivation.

14. Maintain technical skills and adapt to changes in technology, business environments, opportunities, and other business challenges.

15. Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to the VP of Operations and works collaboratively with Sales, Engineering, Production and Administrative Staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent time management and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong engineering aptitude understanding of mechanical design principles and controls systems sequencing.
  • Advanced skills in MS office and project management software, working knowledge of CAD software.
  • Confident, self-starter.
  • 10 years’ experience in project management field.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the highest level of customer service.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
