Fencing Labourer

Force Civil Solutions
Location: Edmonton and Surrounding Areas
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as required
Pay: Competitive, based on experience

About Us

Force Civil Solutions is a growing civil construction company committed to completing projects safely, efficiently, and with quality workmanship. Our crews support a variety of construction projects throughout Alberta, and we are looking for dependable team members who enjoy hands-on outdoor work.

Position Overview

Force Civil Solutions is seeking a reliable and hardworking Fencing Labourer to join our construction team.

This role is focused on the installation, removal, relocation, and maintenance of temporary construction fencing — the metal wire panel-style fencing commonly used around construction sites. The successful candidate will help secure job sites, support site preparation, move fencing materials, and assist with related labour tasks.

This is a physically demanding outdoor position that requires attention to safety, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well as part of a team.

What You’ll Do

As a Fencing Labourer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Install temporary metal construction fence panels around active work sites.
  • Remove, relocate, and reconfigure temporary fencing as project needs change.
  • Load, unload, carry, and place fence panels, bases, clamps, braces, gates, and related materials.
  • Secure fencing using appropriate bases and top connectors.
  • Inspect temporary fencing to ensure it is stable, secure, and properly positioned.
  • Assist with removing site obstructions and preparing areas for construction activity.
  • Help maintain safe site access, controlled work areas, and clear construction boundaries.
  • Operate basic hand tools and record Fencing As-Built drawings in our software.
  • Record damaged panels and components.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of panels installed or dismantled each day.
  • Work safely around heavy equipment, traffic, uneven ground, and changing site conditions.
  • Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Report to work fit for duty and ready to perform physical labour.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous temporary fencing, construction labour, or site setup experience considered an asset.
  • Experience working with metal fence panels, construction fencing, barricades, or site access control considered an asset.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • The ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active construction sites.
  • The ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, pulling, and repetitive movement.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • A dependable, respectful, and team-focused attitude.
  • Ability to interact with coworkers, supervisors, and site personnel in a calm and professional manner.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence with minimum 2 years non-GDL.
  • Experience driving with smaller trailer (15ft).
  • Ability to provide a current driver’s abstract upon hire.

Why Join Force Civil Solutions?

  • Competitive pay based on experience.
  • Hands-on work in the civil construction industry.
  • Outdoor, active work environment.
  • Supportive team atmosphere.
  • Opportunity to gain experience on a variety of construction projects.
  • Potential for ongoing seasonal work with a growing company.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical labour, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying fence panels and bases, bending, pulling, using hand and power tools, and working outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Candidates must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs and work around active construction equipment.
