Position Overview

The F&B Manager – Oval Room is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Oval Room restaurant, ensuring an exceptional dining and service experience that reflects The Fort Garry Hotel’s standards of luxury, hospitality, and professionalism. This role leads front‑of‑house operations, drives service excellence, manages team performance, and ensures efficient, refined, and welcoming service for all guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service during all meal periods
  • Plan, organize, and manage service flow to deliver a seamless guest experience
  • Deliver and uphold exceptional guest service standards aligned with The Fort Garry Hotel’s brand
  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and promptly resolve concerns in a professional manner
  • Anticipate guest needs and create personalized, memorable dining experiences
  • Oversee reservations, seating plans, and guest flow to maximize efficiency and comfort
  • Lead, coach, and motivate front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, bartenders, and support staff
  • Recruit, train, and develop employees to maintain high service standards and product knowledge
  • Foster a positive team culture focused on collaboration, professionalism, and accountability
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
  • Ensure strong knowledge and execution of food, wine, and beverage service standards
  • Collaborate with culinary and bar teams to ensure menu quality, consistency, and presentation
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with regulations
  • Analyze operational performance and implement improvements
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Maintain adherence to liquor laws, workplace safety standards, and hotel policies
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all work areas, equipment, and storage

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in restaurant or hospitality management, preferably in an upscale or hotel environment
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and restaurant operations
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Smart Choices and Food Handler Certification required
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and courteously with guests, colleagues, and leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership presence and strong problem‑solving skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
