Company Overview

Neustar Manufacturing is a CWB Certified welding and fabrication shop specializing in the production of high-quality dump bodies and trailers. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our certified products, which serve the construction and agricultural industries across Canada.

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable General Labourer to join our truck body and trailer manufacturing team. This role requires the ability to lift heavy metal components (75-100 pounds) throughout an 8-hour shift, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, precision, and efficiency. This position will also be responsible for daily housekeeping and clean-up in the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Support skilled machine operators/workers in various tasks to ensure smooth operations in the manufacturing process.
  • Load, move, and position heavy metal parts and materials for fabrication and assembly.
  • Assist parts team, plasma, fabricators, and other machine operators.
  • Measure and if required mark cutting lines on materials using tape measures, squares, and other tools.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions accurately to support production tasks. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to speak and understand English, Ukrainian or Russian to ensure a safe work instructions can be understood and followed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Observe safety protocols at all times to avoid injury or damage to equipment.
  • Use hand tools, scrappers, grinders, and power tools under supervision.
  • Demonstrate pride in quality of work by identifying, correcting or repairing parts errors.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Perform general shop duties such as sweeping, material handling, and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Handle materials and equipment safely, including operating forklifts when necessary.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to complete tasks accurately and on time.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 75-100 pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods (8+ hours).
  • Previous experience in metal fabrication, welding, or industrial manufacturing is an asset, but not required
  • Experience working with power tools and hand tools is essential.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail – essential for working safely with sharp metal edges and heavy components.
  • Ability to read and understand measurements (imperial and metric).
  • Ability to communicate in English, Ukrainian, or Russian
  • Proven ability to listen carefully and follow instructions precisely.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Forklift certification is a plus but can be obtained after hiring.

Working Conditions:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime as needed and 2 Saturdays a month during peak times.

  • This is an entry level position. Opportunity to learn skilled trades, machine operations and other welding, fabrication, sandblasting, etc.
