Your Opportunity:

It is an exciting time to join our Human Resources Business Partnerships (HRBP) team within Health Shared Services as we continue to empower employees and foster a culture where our people feel safe, healthy, and valued.

As part of our ongoing growth and internal career movement, we are seeking skilled and motivated Advisors to join our team and contribute to meaningful work that supports the success of our organization.

Our HRBP team has opportunities available across a variety of sites throughout Alberta. Whether you prefer an urban environment or the benefits of a rural community, we have an opportunity for you.

Interested in relocating? Alberta offers beautiful landscapes, diverse communities, and exciting opportunities to live, work, and play.

As we operate in a hybrid working environment, successful candidates must be able to attend client sites and ideally reside within the area they support.

We are seeking HR Advisors or Generalists who provide proactive HR consultation, recommendations, and services to leaders. Working independently and collaboratively with HR Specialists and Centres of Expertise, you will support the implementation of HR processes aligned with policies, legislation, and collective agreements.

We are proud to be Canada’s first and largest fully integrated provincial healthcare system, serving 4.4 million Albertans. Recognized as a top employer, we are committed to creating an innovative and diverse workplace that values our employees.

Join our HRBP team and help make a difference in the lives of Albertans.

Description:

The HR Advisor works to ensure HR values, goals, and principles are implemented and integrated in the delivery of HR services for all leaders, employees, physicians, and volunteers.

The successful candidate will support clients by advising, coordinating, coaching, and providing recommendations on a variety of human resource functions and related operations.

Clients consist of unionized and non-union employee workforces, so you will need to be familiar with processes for both employee groups.

You will have a strong understanding of employee and labour relations; performance management; ability management; grievance management; and interpretation of collective agreements.

You will also provide consultation on talent management, job classification, and compensation, in addition to other related HR tasks, duties, and responsibilities.

As the HR Advisor, and with the support and mentorship of the HRBP team, you will provide HR expertise to your assigned clients by advising, coordinating, coaching, and providing strategic direction on a variety of human resource functions.

This role has an enhanced focus on workforce initiatives and people management, including investigations, performance management, grievances, conflict resolution, and support of workforce-related initiatives.

To be effective in this role, you will have a proven track record of fostering and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with team members, operational leaders, HR networks, Centres of Expertise, and Union Representatives.

You are adaptable, with the ability to prioritize and multitask while working effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and progressive environment.

You will interpret client needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions to non-standard issues and requests, including engagement of HR specialists as required.
