ABOUT THIS POSITION:
Reporting to the VP Retail, the Retail Operations Leader is responsible for providing the resources to effectively manage the daily activities of retail stores in order to maximize profit and minimize costs. The candidate is responsible for applying their expertise towards the development and execution of a loss prevention program for all SalonCentric Canada stores. Among others, the candidate's mandate is to achieve profit preservation by taking a proactive approach to mitigating asset loss and reducing shrink. To accomplish this, the candidate will implement standard operating procedures for onboarding and engagement and will lead the store team to innovate tomorrow's best new practices. The candidate will also work closely with a wide array of stakeholders within the organization to lead projects, communicate business objectives and align priorities, making sure everyone is moving fast in the right direction. The candidate is a trusted partner in the development and execution of long- and short-range strategies, working cross-functionally with different teams on key retail strategic initiatives. The candidate's forward thinking and creative solutions-driven mindset works to reinforce the key SCC priorities: (1) productivity & performance, (2) profit, and (3) customer experience.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
  • You oversee and manage store inventory, including processing replenishment orders for boutiques (promo & launches), coordinating internal stock movements, and conducting regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels. This includes analyzing inventory data, identifying trends, and implementing strategies to optimize inventory control and minimize losses.
  • Submit project demands for new initiatives. Upon approval, collaborate with internal teams on user acceptance testing (UAT), project launch, and training of in-store personnel to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
  • You proactively monitor all IT tickets submitted by retail stores, acting as a key liaison between stores and the IT support team to expedite issue resolution and minimize business disruption. This includes escalating critical issues and advocating for timely solutions on behalf of the retail stores.
  • You monitor the incident reporting platform, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of reported incidents related to Store Access Controls, asset theft or loss, cash deposit discrepancies, and Health & Safety/HR concerns.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and operational suppliers for in-store services, including coordinating with internal teams to generate purchase orders (POs) and process payments.
  • You monitor all POS systems, report statistical information for suspicious activity and provide further research to determine potential loss or exposure to loss. You also design and maintain systems where loss prevention data is collected.
  • You review, monitor and communicate operational audits to identify areas requiring improvement and you ensure outstanding store operations through the L'Oréal audit processes and partnership with the Regional Sales Managers.
  • You ensure awareness of--and alignment on--all retail-level promotions, sales, events, and partnerships
  • You review the existing operational processes and procedures by eliminating complexity and by facilitating a smooth integration of the revised initiative or program
  • You conduct store visits to identify various "wins and opportunities" and recommendations in order to drive the business
QUALIFICATIONS
