Responsibilities:
- Design improvements to railway equipment (preliminary design, schedules, time and material estimates, engineering documentation, etc.);
- Enhance the efficiency and reliability of electrical and control systems, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and programming;
- Oversee the deployment of solutions (coordination of activities, acceptance testing, liaison with contractors/suppliers and workshop personnel, etc.);
- Provide technical support to various departments (technical review of tenders, safety protocols for design, etc.);
- Develop and ensure compliance with maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems;
- Work on a variety of electrical systems on board train cars such as HVAC, doors, electrical power transmission, refrigeration systems, lighting, communication systems, monitoring, toilet systems, and circuit protection against freezing.
- Holder of a university degree in electrical engineering;
- Registered member of the ''Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec'';
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical engineer;
- Experience in designing, analyzing, and modifying electrical circuits or systems, and preparing required documents for production (bill of materials, electrical diagrams, technical specifications, maintenance procedures);
- Experience in electrical (power) controls, electronic controls, and communication systems;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD computer-aided design software;
- Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Excellent ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing (English and French).
