Position Summary

The Automotive Detailer is responsible for cleaning, restoring, and preparing new, used, and customer vehicles to dealership standards. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and pride in delivering vehicles that exceed customer expectations. The Detailer plays an important role in maintaining the dealership's reputation for quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wash, clean, wax, polish, and vacuum vehicles using approved products and techniques.
  • Clean vehicle interiors, including carpets, upholstery, dashboards, windows, and trim.
  • Perform exterior detailing, including polishing, buffing, paint decontamination, and tire dressing.
  • Prepare new and pre-owned vehicles for display, delivery, and sale.
  • Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and report any cosmetic damage or maintenance concerns.
  • Apply protective coatings, fabric protection, or other appearance products when required.
  • Maintain detailing equipment and ensure all tools are clean, safe, and in good working condition.
  • Keep the detailing bay and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Move vehicles safely around dealership property when authorized.
  • Follow dealership procedures regarding vehicle handling, security, and quality control.
  • Assist with lot presentation and other dealership duties as assigned.
  • Assist with removal of snow from vehicles and walkways.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous automotive detailing experience is an asset but not required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Criminal record check
  • Knowledge of automotive cleaning products, equipment, and detailing techniques is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to safely use detailing equipment, chemicals, and power tools while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced automotive dealership environment.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, water, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • May require overtime or weekend work based on business needs.
