SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc. (SRK) is seeking a Senior Consultant (Geology) for a permanent, full-time position in our Toronto, ON office (1500 – 155 University Avenue). SRK’s Ontario, Canada-based geology team is one of the largest within SRK globally, with a diverse cross-section of structural geologists, mineral resource geologists, and geostatisticians.

As a Senior Consultant (Geology) within this team, you will support both mineral resource geology modeling and structural geology projects. Mineral resource projects will include data analysis, 3D geological modeling, geostatistics, mineral resource estimation, support to due diligence and other mining studies, operational support, and technical reporting. Structural geology projects will include the structural geological components of exploration, mineral resource definition, engineering (scoping, pre-feasibility, feasibility), and due diligence studies. Structural geology work will include but not be limited to field and mine litho-structural mapping, drillcore analysis, data quality assessment and management, and computer-based 2D / 3D geological interpretations.

An important aspect of working for SRK will be the development of your consultancy. We encourage all engineers and scientists to grow their consulting skills under the broad SRK umbrella; the successful applicant will therefore be expected to establish and maintain client relationships.

  • A postgraduate degree specializing in mineral resource estimation and / or the structural geology of mineral deposits
  • 8+ years of applied mineral resource estimation and / or structural geology experience in an exploration or operational capacity
  • Mining / metals exploration experience
  • Strong geostatistical skills and proficiency with computerised resource estimation tools
  • Sound geological understanding of ore deposits with 3D geological modeling skills
  • Professional membership of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) or the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), or eligibility to obtain it
  • A strong theoretical background with demonstrated competence in defining applied solutions
  • Proficiency with GIS and 3D modeling software
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to generate, implement, and complete projects
  • An established network within the mining industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, the language of work for this role
  • Dynamic and energetic leadership skills, including the ability to mentor younger consultants
  • Capacity to act as a Qualified Person or equivalent to satisfy requirements for National Instrument 43-101, JORC, SAMREC, etc.

Additional Beneficial Experience:

  • Experience with modern, implicit modelling tools and/or geophysical interpretation
  • Prior consulting experience

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base pay range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000. The salary offered will be commensurate with relevant skills, knowledge, and experience. The benefits package includes extended health and dental, risk benefits, RRSP matching, and eligibility for annual performance bonus.
