Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our retail operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive retail management experience, and excellent communication abilities. This role involves overseeing daily store functions, managing staff, developing strategies to increase sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, maintaining operational excellence, and fostering a positive team environment. Bilingual or multilingual skills are highly desirable to effectively serve diverse customer bases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, merchandising, and customer service activities.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to meet sales targets and improve overall store performance.
  • Manage recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of staff to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Oversee payroll processing, budgeting, and financial recordkeeping such as bookkeeping and cash handling.
  • Coordinate purchasing, pricing strategies, and inventory management to optimize profitability.
  • Supervise cashiering functions and POS systems to ensure smooth transaction processes.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide training & development opportunities, and motivate staff.
  • Monitor store compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Perform administrative duties including communication with vendors, overseeing merchandising displays, and managing store schedules.
  • Use organizational skills and time management to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in retail management or store management with supervising responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred for diverse customer engagement.
  • Proficiency in negotiation, sales management, marketing, pricing strategies, and merchandising techniques.
  • Experience with POS systems, purchasing processes, budgeting, bookkeeping, payroll administration, and cash handling.
  • Demonstrated ability in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a professional phone etiquette approach.
  • Ability to analyze sales data using math skills for strategic decision-making.
