Eclipse LLP is looking for a Bookkeeper or Accounting Technician to join our Grande Prairie office.

We’re open to hiring either an experienced Bookkeeper or an Accounting Technician, depending on the successful candidate’s background, education and experience.

The Bookkeeper role will focus primarily on full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll and related remittances, while the Accounting Technician role will include working paper files, financial statements and tax preparation.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities will depend on whether you join us as a Bookkeeper or Accounting Technician.

Bookkeeping responsibilities may include:

  • Full-cycle bookkeeping
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Recording revenue and reconciling accounts receivable
  • Preparing journal entries
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Payroll processing and related calculations
  • GST preparation and monthly, quarterly and annual remittances
  • WCB reporting and remittances

Accounting Technician responsibilities may include:

  • Preparing working paper files
  • Preparing financial statements
  • Preparing T1 personal tax returns
  • Preparing T4 and T5 slips
  • Preparing T2 corporate tax returns
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing journal entries
  • Other accounting support as required

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in candidates who have a combination of relevant education, training, and experience. Preference will be given to applicants with:

  • Previous bookkeeping and/or accounting experience
  • Relevant bookkeeping or accounting education or training
  • Experience with Sage 50 and/or QuickBooks
  • Experience with Caseware is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach when working with clients and colleagues
  • Sense of humour
