Position: Machine Builder - Welder Fabricator, Millwright

WESCOR provides wastewater treatment solutions for a range of industrial, commercial and municipal markets specializing in process design and equipment supply to challenging applications. We offer in-house equipment design and fabrication, turn-key treatment systems followed by long term field support for our clients.

Summary of Position:

Requires a multi-disciplined individual responsible for building Stainless Steel treatment systems from start to finish. An exciting role offering tremendous variety working in a modern, clean facility. Includes: Stainless Steel Welding & Fabricating, Machine Mechanical Build and Assembly, Repair and Service to Industrial Wastewater Treatment Equipment. This is a specialized role offering a wide range of exciting opportunity for the right candidate who possess a drive to excel in their role.

Job Functions:

  • Conduct in-house welding and fabrication of stainless steel weldments, tanks, structures and assemblies
  • Welding and fitting of pipe spools
  • Build, & Assemble various wastewater treatment equipment, components and systems including mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electrical system.
  • Fabricate parts as needed operating tools including MIG Welder, TIG Welder, band saws, hand grinders, drills, milling machine, lathe, plasma cutter, manual lathe, pedestal grinders,etc
  • Complete equipment testing prior to shipment
  • Analyze drawings and coordinate with engineering to make changes where improvements are required.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment components
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair wastewater treatment systems at customer sites including pumps, mixers, chemical feed equipment, instrumentation, electrical controls, pneumatics, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust treatment system operating parameters to optimize treatment results
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair shop and field equipment
  • Completion of maintenance documents, work orders, service logs, etc.
  • Establish, manage and maintain parts crib and inventory
  • Maintain shop organization and cleanliness
  • Other shop duties and maintenance items as assigned
  • Experience & Education:
  • Exceptional stainless steel welding ability, specifically skilled in stainless steel TIG process
  • Must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in the hand fitting of machine parts to very fine tolerances using a variety of tools and equipment used in general shop practices
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in equipment rigging using a variety of methods and equipment
  • Knowledge of and experience in the troubleshooting, testing, installation and repair of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, pumps, etc.
  • Three or more years of relatable mechanical and electrical skills experience, preferably in an industrial environment
  • Ability to read and understand layout plans and drawings
  • Ability to read drawings and machine maintenance manuals to troubleshoot and rebuild equipment
  • Ability to work unsupervised and multitask while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to use initiative and good judgement in the application of standard procedures
  • Interest in working in a multi-skilled position
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and working conditions
  • Self-starter with developed analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Highly flexible with advanced interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Focus on customer service
  • Valid Ontario Driver's Licence with acceptable history
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required

The Following Are Considered Assets:

  • Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certificate
  • Piping and plumbing experience
  • Thorough understanding of PLC's, VFD's, Industrial Electronics & Controls
  • Knowledge of Wastewater treatment processes, pumps, chemical feed equipment, conveyors
  • Machining ability
  • Overhead crane and rigging experience
  • Forklift training and experience

Work Conditions:

  • Clean modern facility
  • New welding equipment
  • Safety equipment required (steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.)
  • Monday to Friday day shift, over-time and weekends as required.
  • Hazards associated with the trade
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to remain standing, crouching or bending for long periods of time

Compensation:

  • $35.00 - $55.00/hr relative to skills, experience, qualifications and abilities
  • 3 weeks paid vacation/year
