Skilled Labourer (Apprentice Plastic Welder)

Location: Port Kells/Surrey, BC

Sandale Utility Products is hiring a Skilled Labourer (Apprentice Plastic Welder) to join our crew in Port Kells.

No experience? No problem — we provide paid, hands-on training in plastic welding (HDPE fusion) and support you every step of the way.

This is a full-time, permanent position with great pay, benefits, and room for advancement.

WHAT IS SANDALE?

Sandale Utility Products supplies plastic piping systems (HDPE) used in construction, utilities, and infrastructure projects across Western Canada. That includes pipes for water lines, stormwater systems, and industrial projects. We build custom piping solutions, weld plastic pipe in our shop or on job sites, and deliver reliable service to contractors, municipalities, and utility companies. Our team includes office staff, plastic welders, shipping & receiving personnel, sales & technical support — and we all work together to get the job done safely and efficiently.

JOB POSITION DUTIES:

As a Skilled Labourer (Apprentice Plastic Welder), you'll play a key role in the fabrication of HDPE piping systems both in the field and in our shop, while also assisting with warehouse operations and logistics. This is a hands-on role that combines physical work, technical learning, and on-site teamwork. Travel within British Columbia and Yukon is required; assignments may involve short-term or extended travel depending on project scope and scheduling

Comprehensive paid training will be provided.

As a teammate with Sandale, your duties will include:

  • Learn and perform HDPE plastic welding (fusion) to fabricate custom orders to exact specifications
  • Assist in the on-site field fabrication of pipe, fittings, and related products for various infrastructure projects
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in both the shop and field
  • Receive and verify incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
  • Pick and package orders for delivery or shipment
  • Safely load and unload materials using forklifts and other handling equipment
  • Help maintain and perform basic repairs on fusion and pipe-handling equipment
