Location: Ponoka, Alberta
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

About the Opportunity

Morskate Manufacturing, based in Ponoka, Alberta, is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support the continued growth and day-to-day operations of our Human Resources department within a fast-paced steel manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the HR Manager, this role is ideal for an emerging HR professional looking to accelerate their career through hands-on experience and broad exposure across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, compliance, workforce planning, and HR systems.

As a key member of the team, you will help strengthen HR programs, support employees and leaders, and contribute to building a professional, people-focused workplace culture. This role offers significant professional growth and development potential, with opportunities to expand HR knowledge, gain meaningful experience, and take on increasing responsibility in a dynamic and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks, offer preparation, and onboarding.
  • Support recruitment and workforce attraction strategies to attract qualified talent across the organization.
  • Coordinate and participate in talent attraction initiatives including career fairs, student recruitment, apprenticeships, internships, trade events, and community partnerships.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR databases, reporting, and confidential documentation.
  • Assist with the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of HR systems, processes, and tools, including HRIS initiatives.
  • Prepare employment documentation, employee correspondence, and support payroll-related administrative processes.
  • Support HR reporting, compliance requirements, and employee information management.
  • Act as a first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries and provide day-to-day administrative support.
  • Support employee relations, performance management processes, policy administration, and HR compliance activities.
  • Assist leaders and employees in fostering a positive, professional, and people-focused workplace culture.
  • Coordinate employee training, development initiatives, and onboarding programs.
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of HR policies, procedures, templates, systems and best practices.
  • Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen organizational effectiveness and employee experience.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2–5 years of Human Resources experience
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment considered an asset
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functions within a growing organization
  • Experience coordinating full-cycle recruitment processes
  • Working knowledge of HR fundamentals, employment standards legislation, and HR best practices
  • Experience using HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information

Compensation
