Food & Beverage Outlets Manager

Role Summary

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Outlets Manager plays a key role in delivering memorable guest experiences while supporting operational excellence across all food and beverage venues.

Working closely with the culinary leadership team, this position is responsible for the administration, supervision, and service excellence of all resort dining outlets, including Muskoka Chophouse, Teca, Cottages, Lakes Bar, The Deck, In-Room Dining, and The Country Market. The Outlets Manager ensures that luxury service standards are consistently achieved while fostering a culture of engagement, development, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

Operational Leadership

• Support the effective and efficient administration and leadership of all front-of-house operations and associates.
• Provide guidance, leadership, and ongoing support to Food & Beverage Supervisors and Leads.
• Maintain JW Marriott service standards and continuously enhance the quality of guest experiences and outlet offerings in partnership with Food & Beverage and Culinary leadership.
• Communicate, train, and monitor operational procedures to ensure consistency and excellence.
• Recommend and implement operational improvements that support departmental objectives and business goals.
• Act as a hands-on leader, supporting daily operations as required, including serving guests, taking orders, and assisting with service execution.
• Monitor outlet operations to ensure guest comfort, safety, service efficiency, and seating availability.
• Address guest concerns and service recovery opportunities with professionalism, empathy, and urgency.
• Coordinate with other departments to support seamless resort operations and guest experiences.

Talent Development & Engagement

• Train, coach, and develop a high-performing team of front-of-house associates.
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and service-focused work environment.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.
• Support succession planning and career growth initiatives for team members.
• Ensure associates understand their roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
• Assist in the development and delivery of orientation and ongoing training programs.

Financial & Administrative Management

• Create and manage schedules in accordance with business volumes, budget targets, and employment policies.
• Ensure payroll and time management processes are completed accurately and within established timelines.
• Assist with the development and management of departmental operating budgets.
• Monitor expenses and support cost-control initiatives while maintaining service excellence.
• Complete inventories and oversee the ordering and requisition of required supplies.

Guest Experience & Quality Assurance

• Partner with leadership teams to identify opportunities that positively impact Guest Satisfaction Survey results.
• Ensure department goals and service standards are consistently communicated, understood, and achieved.
• Champion luxury hospitality standards and promote a culture of personalized, anticipatory service.
• Support the growth of the Wine Ambassador Program through relationship-building with key suppliers and industry partners, aligning with business objectives.

Health, Safety & Sustainability

• Ensure compliance with all workplace health and safety regulations and actively participate in health and safety initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Adhere to all environmental and sustainability programs and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of restaurant management experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fine dining service, food, beverage, and wine.
• Experience with cash handling and budget administration.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

• International Wine Education Guild (IWEG) and/or Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) coursework.
• Experience with Micros POS, OpenTable, and Clear Sky Inventory systems.
• Previous resort, hotel, or luxury hospitality experience.
• Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Experience managing multiple outlets or locations.

Working Conditions

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the resort for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic hospitality environment.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
