Island Foods & Freight is a privately owned, family-operated warehouse distribution and freight transportation company, located on Vancouver Island. With the main warehouse located in Port McNeill, Island Foods & Freight expanded into Campbell River in 2022 and is continuously growing their operation!

At the Port McNeill warehouse, we specialize in the sales of various food and beverage items, delivering to customers all over the North Island. In addition we provide freight transportation of perishable and dry freight for various suppliers. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond to provide excellent service to our customers, and we work hard with our team to achieve that.

We are excited to offer this position at our Port McNeill location: Outside / Field Sales Representative.

About the Position

This is a multi-faceted, hands-on role that goes well beyond traditional sales. You will have a weekly schedule to visit customers throughout Port McNeill, Port Hardy, and Port Alice, with rotating trips to Sointula, Alert Bay, and Sayward.

Your main responsibilites will include:

• Visiting stores to assess product inventory, bringing backstock out when needed, and writing orders for the next delivery day. This is primarily focused on Coca Cola Beverages and Frito Lay Hostess chip products.
• Growing sales by introducing new products, flavours, and suppliers to our customers.
• Finding the right balance to maximize sales and minimize returns.
• Visiting customers even when no order is required to check in, build relationships, and look for new sales opportunities.
• Checking company equipment such as Coca Cola coolers and Arctic Glacier freezers to ensure they are clean, working, and properly maintained.
• Helping with deliveries and other tasks when needed by the warehouse operations team.

Flexibility is key. This isn't a traditional sales position where every day looks the same. We are looking for someone who is comfortable jumping in wherever needed and being part of the bigger operation.

Previous sales, grocery, merchandising, or distribution experience is an asset but we are more interested in finding the right person!

Wage

We are offering a wage of $20-25 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
