Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Local Driver with Class 1 license to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting bulk commodities, freight and equipment within the local area, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This will be done with decks, vans and pneumatic tankers. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, utilizing various skills including heavy equipment operation and automotive repair.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight, equipment, and supplies within designated local routes
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and freight to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to maintain vehicle functionality
- Assist with the operation of heavy machinery and equipment during loading and unloading processes
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle maintenance records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate deliveries and pickups
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of forklift operation, freight handling, and heavy equipment usage
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting skills preferred
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and transportation
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with local routes
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Good English communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Class 1 Drivers License
This position requires a dedicated individual committed to safety, punctuality, and operational excellence. Candidates with experience in heavy equipment operation or automotive repair will be highly valued.

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
