The Electrician I – Electrical Works and Inspections is to inspect, monitor, review and document condition and performance of PMV electrical systems and equipment, including lighting and security systems, heating systems, power distribution systems and high voltage substations. To provide recommendations and input on PMV electrical assets. To install, repair and maintain PMV electrical systems and assist with coordination and review of electrical work performed by external service providers. To direct assigned workers in the performance of electrical related work and to perform other duties as assigned.

What you do:

  • Inspect, monitor and review the condition and performance of PMV electrical systems and equipment, including maintaining a record of related activities and asset data in the Asset Management System.
  • Recommend and prioritize repairs, system improvements, replacements or upgrades, including performing life cycle analysis and assisting with planning and budgeting.
  • Provide maintenance and operational input on the design of PMV electrical assets.
  • Ensure electrical systems and equipment are maintained and operating in accordance with applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Install, repair and maintain both high and low voltage electrical systems at PMV facilities and buildings, including plan review, inspection, problem identification, work planning, material and service procurement, commissioning and closeout documentation.
  • Assist with coordination and review of electrical work performed by external service providers
  • Direct assigned workers in the performance of electrical work.
  • Perform duties related to electrical trade and provide assistance to other trades as necessary.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

What you bring:

  • High school graduate with an electrical trade certification along with a minimum of 4 years of post certification experience in related electrical procedures in a similar environment.
  • Registration with BC Safety Authority as a field safety representative with a class “B” certificate of qualification is required.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s licence. Computer literacy is required.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’s) would be an asset.
  • Must be a responsible individual in good physical condition with the ability to work independently and be willing to take responsibility.
  • Must be a self-motivated team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to liaise effectively and positively with all levels of staff and outside contacts.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights, over water and in confined spaces.
