Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Our Claims team within our Rapid Transit Commercial Management department is looking for a Lead, Forensic Scheduling to join the team! You will review and assess the forensic scheduling aspects of the claims management process to support the CPG’s delivery of capital and infrastructure projects, including delay and quantum analysis of claims and provide recommendations for resolution of those claims, along with ensuring adherence to schedule management policies and procedures.

What will I be doing?

  • Conduct forensic schedule analysis using the AACE recommended techniques and other industry- standard techniques, and provides recommendations for resolution of the claims involving variations, delay, disruption, acceleration, loss of productivity, etc.
  • Provide calculations for disruption, loss of productivity, acceleration, etc. based on forensic analysis of project schedule, and other project records.
  • Prepare delay analysis reports and recommendations and present at the executive level.
  • Advise and assist Project Teams on early identification of schedule issues, potential delays, delay avoidance and mitigation techniques. and involve other functional disciplines in the process.
  • Work with project teams, ensure that the Contractor’s baseline schedules monthly updates and recovery schedules are proper, and accurate and do not expose Metrolinx to unnecessary claims.
  • Builds and supports the continuous improvement of the schedule management process.
  • Prepares metrics, analyzes, and manages key performance indicators for schedule management.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

  • Completion of a degree in construction management, project management, engineering, or a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.

  • Demonstrated experience in forensic scheduling and contract management for major commercial project and/or claims management with demonstrable successful resolution in favor of the client

  • Progressive experience in the management and administration of major construction/infrastructure contracts.

  • Schedule management acumen – including the building and running of detailed quantitative cost and schedule models and the interpretation of analysis results.

  • Experience using P6, Microsoft Project. Knowledge of Acumen Fuse Acumen (or similar schedule analyzer program) and TILOS is a plus.

  • Demonstrable exceptional technical skill in forensic schedule analysis for prolongation, loss of productivity and acceleration claims and assessment of related schedule and cost impacts with the application of AACE recommended techniques.

  • Experience in conducting schedule progress analysis and regularly updating schedule for each project stage until completion or close-out.

  • Experience in earned-value management analysis, and in reviewing and evaluating contractor and consultant schedules and providing guidance and recommendations.

  • Experience in regularly assessing risks, analyzing schedule disruptions, and determining root causes; identifying strategies for catching up on lost time, avoiding potential delays, and recommending opportunities to mitigate.
