Wollaston Lake Lodge 2026 Morning Chef: POSITION SUMMARY

The Morning Chef is responsible for leading the kitchen during breakfast and lunch service at Wollaston Lake Lodge, working in close collaboration with the Baker and Morning Sous Chef. You will prepare daily made-to-order, plated breakfasts for guests and staff, including a rotating breakfast special, while also supporting the morning buffet and grab-and-go breakfast sandwiches for staff. On Day 1 (changeover day), breakfast begins at 5:00am, and on Days 2, 3, and 4, service starts at 6:00am for staff and 6:30am for guests and continues until the last guest is served—typically around 10:00am. Alongside breakfast, you are responsible for preparing a versatile lunch buffet for all in-camp staff, ensuring meals are well-balance and ready on time. This role requires strong time management, consistency and attention to detail while following Wollaston Lake Lodge’s set recipes and standards. The Morning Chef ensures the kitchen operates efficiently duing early hours and maintains a clean and organized workspace throught the shift.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Set up and prep prior to breakfast service in a timely and efficient manner Cook food in a timely manner – plated guest and staff service Set up and take down buffet items on staff breakfast and lunch line Inform wait staff of any menu changes and daily specials Ensure all dishes are plated and presented as outline by Wollaston Lake Lodge standards Modify recipes to accommodate customers’ dietary needs and special requests Monitor food inventory and indicate items running out of stock Prep food and compenents required for upcoming meal services Prepare a balanced buffet lunch according to the set menu for 20-30 staff daily Day 1: Changeover day– double guest breakfast – plated service for outgoing guests and buffet for incoming guests Check the quality and quantity of received grocery and supply orders Truck Days: You are required to be in the kitchen to help unload and put away all groceries that have arrived for the week Maintain compliance with all health, safety and sanitation regulations in the kitchen Monitor and enforce sanitation practices to ensure all staff adhere to safety standards and regulations

  • Proven work experience as a Chef (minimum 1 year) Ability to read chits and complete plated service Ability to manage your time efficiently Work well unsupervised Strong attention to detail Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with guests Hard worker Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend for an entire 10-hour shift. Tasks require consistent use of both arms and legs. Must be able to handle all physical aspects of the job, which include lifting/moving heavy equipment (approx. 50 lbs) Must be authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis for any employer CERTIFICATION Saskatchewan Food Handler Certificate (required) TOOLS REQUIRED Professional Knife Set Encouraged to bring any preferred tools that support your efficiency, consistency and ability to meet lodge standards
