Full job description

Henderson’s Meats is looking for a reliable, hardworking person to join our team as a Kill Floor Worker / Meat Processing Labourer.

This is a hands-on position working in our provincially licensed abattoir. The successful applicant must be comfortable working around livestock and participating in the slaughter and dressing process.

Main Duties

  • Assist with livestock slaughter and dressing
  • Skinning, evisceration and carcass preparation
  • Handling and moving carcasses and meat products
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas
  • Following food safety, animal welfare and workplace safety procedures
  • Working as part of a team to keep production running safely and efficiently
  • Other meat-processing and general labour duties as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Reliable and able to arrive on time
  • Physically capable of repetitive lifting and standing for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a meat-processing/slaughter environment
  • Able to work safely with knives and processing equipment
  • Willing to learn and follow instructions
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Previous slaughterhouse, farm, butcher or meat-processing experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person

Schedule: Primarily Monday and Thursdays from 7h00 to 3h00pm

Wage: Based on experience
