About the Role

The Niagara Falls Convention Centre is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Events Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of client events. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Events, this position plays a key role in delivering exceptional event experiences while ensuring seamless operational execution.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, excels at managing multiple priorities, and is passionate about client service and event excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Manage events following contract execution by the sales team
  • Create and maintain accurate event orders and event information within the event management system
  • Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, room setups, catering, audiovisual requirements, and on-site operations
  • Prepare floor plans in accordance with operational standards and guidelines
  • Ensure timely communication of event updates across departments

Client Relations & Service Excellence

  • Communicate event policies and procedures to clients
  • Respond to client inquiries and resolve concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Support on-site event operations including setup coordination and vendor collaboration
  • Manage settlement, billing, and invoicing for ticketed and non-ticketed events

Team Collaboration & Operational Support

  • Coordinate event information with Event Operations teams
  • Promote ancillary services and food & beverage offerings
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Diploma in Business, Hospitality, or Event Management preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of event coordination experience
  • Hospitality or tourism industry experience required
  • CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) designation considered an asset
  • Experience with event management software and financial processes preferred

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Experience with Momentus or similar event management systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required
