Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Catering Sales & Event Manager to drive growth and deliver exceptional event experiences. In this role, you will own the entire event lifecycle: from hunting for new business and marketing our services, to planning and executing both onsite and offsite catering events.

The ideal candidate is a blend of a strategic salesperson, a creative marketer, and an organized project manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves making memorable experiences happen.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Proactively prospect, pitch, and secure new catering business (corporate accounts, weddings, social gatherings, community events).
  • Respond to incoming leads promptly, conduct site tours, and present tailored proposals that showcase our venue and culinary offerings.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Negotiate contracts, build accurate quotes, and manage billing/final invoicing.

2. Marketing & Outreach

  • Develop and execute localized marketing strategies to promote our onsite and offsite catering capabilities.
  • Maintain relationships with local corporate partners, wedding planners, and community organizations to build a steady referral network.
  • Represent the brand at networking events, bridal expos, and industry trade shows.

3. Event Planning & Execution

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through menu selection, floor plans, timelines, and logistics.
  • Coordinate all event details for both onsite (managing venue space) and offsite events (handling transportation logistics, rentals, and site restrictions).
  • Liaise with the kitchen/culinary team to ensure menus are executable and dietary restrictions are managed flawlessly.
  • Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown, managing service staff and troubleshooting issues in real time to guarantee client satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in catering sales, hotel banquet management, or event planning.
  • Versatility: Proven track record of managing both onsite venue logistics and complex offsite catering setups.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with catering software (e.g., Total Party Planner, Tripleseat, Caterease), CRM platforms, and basic POS systems.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a natural ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event dates.
  • Physical/Logistical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods during events and a valid driver's license (necessary for offsite event management).

Compensation: $50,000 Base Salary plus a tiered performance commission.

Tier 1: 3% commission on the first $1,000,000 in net sales.

Tier 2: 5% commission on every dollar above $1,000,000 in net sales.
