Full job description

Heritage Trust Company is seeking an experienced Trust Officer to independently manage a portfolio of estate, trust and power of attorney files.

We are an independent British Columbia trust company helping individuals and families navigate important transitions with sound judgment, practical support and care. Our team works closely with clients’ existing lawyers, accountants and financial advisers.

This opportunity is suited to someone who enjoys taking responsibility, building relationships and moving files forward through to completion.

The role

You will manage your own files, coordinate asset collection and administration, communicate with clients and beneficiaries, and work with our trust accountant and external advisers on accounting, tax requirements and distributions. You will exercise judgment within delegated authority and identify matters requiring legal advice or additional approval.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • At least three years of direct estate and trust administration experience, including demonstrated responsibility for independently managing files.
  • Practical knowledge of British Columbia estate, trust and power of attorney administration.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Clear, professional communication and sensitivity to grief and complex family dynamics.
  • A TEP designation or progress toward STEP qualifications would be an asset.

At Heritage Trust, you will have meaningful responsibility, varied work and close collaboration with an experienced team in a growing independent company.

Interested? Please send your résumé and a brief cover letter to admin@heritagetrustcompany.ca, with the subject line Trust Officer Application.

Please describe the types of files you have personally managed and your experience bringing estate administrations to completion, without identifying clients.

Know someone who would be a good fit? We would appreciate your sharing this opportunity.

Pay: $85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
