Job Title: Field Inspector – Vehicle & Equipment Inspections
Location: Flexible, within an hour of your home
Company: Collateral Specialists Inc. (CSI)
Type: Part-time, flexible hours

About Us:
Collateral Specialists Inc. (CSI) is a trusted third-party inspection company serving the financial industry for over 30 years. We provide accurate, detailed field inspections nationwide, helping lenders verify, track, and audit collateral—including vehicles, trucks, construction equipment, and other financed assets.

Exciting News – Expanding into Canada!
CSI is opening a new sector in Canada! This expansion creates opportunities for Field Inspectors to join our growing team, performing vehicle inspections at car dealerships while enjoying flexible, part-time work close to home.

Position Overview:
CSI is seeking detail-oriented, self-motivated Field Inspectors with a strong focus on vehicle and equipment inspections. You will conduct inspections at dealerships, equipment rental businesses, and other borrower locations to ensure lenders have accurate, up-to-date information about their financed inventory. This role allows you to set your own schedule while performing inspections locally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct floor plan inspections at automotive, truck, and construction equipment dealerships.
  • Verify vehicles and equipment, cross-check serial numbers, and confirm models.
  • Document inventory discrepancies (e.g., in stock, on demo, rented, sold) and resolve status questions.
  • Travel to offsite locations, such as repair shops or storage facilities, to photograph collateral as needed.
  • Perform equipment inspections at customer sites, confirming the presence and condition of leased or financed assets.
  • Complete site inspections for lenders, including interior and exterior assessments, as requested.
  • Take high-quality digital photos and upload them to CSI’s reporting system.
  • Prepare accurate, detailed inspection reports in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with CSI’s team to provide updates and resolve issues.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Reliable transportation with the ability to travel locally (within an hour of your location).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions precisely.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Comfortable using mobile technology (smartphones/tablets) and web-based reporting systems.
  • Flexible weekday availability (10:00 AM to 4:00 PM) and ability to complete reports within required timelines.
  • Physically able to climb into vehicles, walk through business locations, and inspect equipment safely.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in vehicle, equipment, or collateral inspections.
  • Experience in auditing, automotive, or financial industries.
  • Prior fieldwork or inspection experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive pay based on experience and inspection volume.
  • Hourly compensation for on-site, travel, and processing time.
  • Mileage reimbursement for travel to inspection sites.
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate your availability.
  • Comprehensive support from CSI’s experienced team.

Who Should Apply:

Previous dealership experience is highly preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in vehicle inspections, floor plan audits, and equipment finance audits are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in notary services, real estate, insurance and claims adjusting, SBA inspections, mortgage inspections, or the lending industry is also an excellent fit for this role.

How to Apply:
If you are a dependable, detail-oriented professional with a focus on vehicle and equipment inspections, we encourage you to apply! Submit your resume and cover letter via Indeed or request more information at CSI Careers.

Equal Opportunity Employer:
CSI is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
