Ronnie’s Generator Service Ltd. has been servicing generators in the field for over 40 years. Our sister company, Paramount Power Systems Ltd. designs, sources, assembles and sell generators for the commercial/industrial/institutional market in Canada for 25 years. Our success comes from our diverse and talented team of over 80 people. As we continue to experience a period of growth, our company is excited to welcome new team members that share our passion for success and provide the best life safety equipment/backup generators to the marketplace.

As the company continues to grow, we are currently seeking a Generator Technician to join our growing team.

Vacant Role: Full Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.

The candidate will perform the following duties for this current vacant role:

  • Complete weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual inspections, including testing of generators installed primarily to provide standby power during outages and other emergency situations.
  • Diagnose and perform repairs on engines, alternators, radiators, battery chargers, and other generator system components.
  • Replace coolant, oil, and filters in large diesel and natural gas-powered engines.
  • Submit service work information and documentation to schedulers in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in-house and at client/customer sites.
  • Assist with preparing and organizing the following day’s work assignments.
  • Support ongoing shop operations and maintenance activities.
  • Attend and participate in workshop training sessions.
  • Adhere to all safety practices and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Establish and maintain positive customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and exceed expectations.
  • Complete required forms and reports to ensure accurate record-keeping of generator service jobs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will also obtain the following qualifications & skills for this position:

  • 2 years of mechanical experience
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s License
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable; excellent punctuality.
  • Travel within the GTAA
  • Ability to work overtime and on weekends as needed
  • Generator experience is an asset
