About the Job
Are you passionate about protecting the environment and ensuring responsible environmental stewardship? Do you enjoy a mix of fieldwork, collaboration, and regulatory compliance? If so, we'd love to hear from you. As our Environmental Performance Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting environmental compliance and performance across multiple facility locations. Reporting directly to the Environmental Performance Business Partner, you'll work alongside operations teams to help ensure our facilities meet environmental regulations, corporate standards, and permit requirements while contributing to sustainable operational excellence.
This is a 15-month contract position based out of Owen Sound office, with regular travel throughout the Simcoe and Grey-Bruce regions.
Salary: $60,000 to $65,000 based on experience and qualifications.
What You’ll Be Doing

Partner with facility teams to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, approvals, and corporate environmental policies.

Deliver and support environmental training programs, including spill response and permit-required training.

Conduct environmental inspections and audits to help maintain high environmental performance standards.

Support the planning and execution of Environmental Performance Reviews (EPRs).
-
Assist in developing, implementing, and tracking Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) arising from inspections and audits.
-
Maintain accurate environmental records and documentation to support regulatory compliance.
-
Perform field monitoring and environmental sampling in accordance with site permits and environmental monitoring programs.
-
Review field and laboratory data for accuracy, identify potential issues, and communicate findings to the Environmental Performance Business Partner.

Assist with environmental permitting activities and government reporting requirements.
-
Build positive working relationships with facility personnel, regulators, consultants, and other stakeholders to support environmental performance initiatives.
Here’s What You Need
- College diploma or university degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, or a related discipline.
- Professional designation such as C.E.T. or a similar credential is considered an asset.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in environmental science, environmental compliance, or a related field.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience conducting environmental monitoring, particularly groundwater and surface water sampling.
- Experience interpreting laboratory analytical results.
- Hands-on experience using environmental field equipment such as YSIs, pH meters, water level meters, and data loggers.
- Experience working with government agencies, environmental consultants, and other external stakeholders.
- Experience with Adaptive Management Plans (AMPs), environmental audits, aggregate operations (pits and quarries), or compliance management software is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees, regulators, consultants, and leadership.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative when required.
