This law firm is a growing personal injury law firm, located within minutes of downtown Edmonton in the vibrant 124 Street gallery district, renowned for its restaurants, shops, art galleries, and shopping. Responsibilities:

- Arranging for court filing of documents;

- Preparing and maintaining a diarizing system for court dates, questionings, meetings and appointments;

- Preparing and typing correspondence, pleadings, etc;

- Tracking the lawyer’s billing statistics, including retainers received and overdue/unpaid accounts;

- Scheduling appointments and meetings and preparing documentation for those appointments and meetings;

- Assisting clients over the phone and via email with requests for updates on file matters and information on billing matters;

- Scheduling court runners and couriers;

- Maintaining client files in paper and electronic form;

- Helping cover reception telephones; and

- Assisting guests who attend the office from time to time.

Skills:
- Excellent proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in written communication
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Proficient in office software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of front desk operations and phone etiquette
- Fast and accurate data entry skills

- Ability to type quickly and accurately
- Comfortable using computerized systems for various tasks

Qualifications

- Grade 12 Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

- A Legal Assistant Diploma is a requirement
- Experience working in a Law office setting is a plus
- Strong organization and time management skills

- Speaking Mandarin and Cantonese is a requirement
